I would love to write more science fiction. I have before but…it’s not my forte. As much as I watch that type of movie, putting it into words is very different.
I’ve committed one short story that was not chosen for an anthology, but then again, it wasn’t my best effort and I knew that when I submitted it. I lack practice and I know that. Thing is, my inspiration usually comes in the historical, fantasy, or romance form.
That being said, Clarkesworld Magazine is an amazing window to sci fi and are now looking for new short stories.

Clarkesworld Magazine is a Hugo, World Fantasy, and British Fantasy Award-winning science fiction and fantasy magazine that publishes short stories, interviews, articles and audio fiction. Issues are published monthly and available on our website, for purchase in ebook format, and via electronic subscription. All original fiction is also published in our trade paperback series from Wyrm Publishing. We are currently open for art, non-fiction and short story submissions.
Here is the submission guideline.
Also, they do have a fiction guideline that I suggest reading thoroughly before submitting. Some types of stories/subjects are harder sells.
Happy submitting! 😀
